ABOUT

OUR ROOTS RUN DEEP

Located on York Rd. in the heart of Hereford, MD, Hope and Cappie Troyer opened Troyer's as a liquor store in 1981, but the business has been a fixture of the community since 1932 when Cappie's grandparents operated it as a gas station and convenience store. Cappie remembers working for her grandparents and selling penny candy. In 1973, Hope and Cappie bought the business and transformed it into a liquor store eight years later.

Today, the gas pumps and penny candy are gone, but the hometown, family-owned feel remains evident as you walk in the front door. Hope and Cappie's daughter, Karen, and her husband, Doug, run the store now. Cappie still lives next door and can often be seen chatting with a long-time customer or introducing herself to a new one.

While we pride ourselves on our local heritage, we've become more than just a small-town stop for a cold six pack. We're delighted to offer our customers a diverse selection of fine wines, specialty liquors, craft beers, and everything in between. If we don't have it, we'll do our best to find it for you.

We also stay active in the community by supporting local charities, participating in events and festivals, and making our services available for parties, weddings, and other group functions.
